Job SummaryProvide engineering leadership and expertise for a life science company, instrumentation division focused on achieving business objectives through design development, technical commercial transfer, execution of manufacturing, warranty repair, order fulfillment, instrument parts inventory management, excellent quality, and the optimization of resources and processes within budget.
Manage the Solon Instrumentation Design, Engineering, technical transfer, manufacturing, and repair teams to develop an environment that promotes operational excellence, continual process improvement and employee engagement.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities Lead engineering research and development projects that produce new designs, products, and processes.
Operational execution to enhance profitability, productivity, cost and waste reduction, and efficiency within the instrument manufacturing process.
Responsible for increasing Instrument Revenue through maximizing production capacity and throughput.
Develop and deploy instrument engineering, production, repair strategy in collaboration with product development and product specialist teams.
Lead cross-functional team collaborations.
Build, manage, and development instrument engineering, manufacturing, and repair teams.
Determine effective training and talent development.
Execute processes and management methods to achieve corporate On-time delivery KPI's.
Support KPI's including Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Continuous Improvement, and Positive Employee Relations.
Drive accountability through the proper administration of KPI's, safety guidelines, ISO quality system, values, and applicable company policies and procedures.
Ensure standardization, structure, and sharing of best-demonstrated practices and SOPs within the Solon operations.
Maintain compliance with Quality Systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business preferred.
At least 10 years' experience in an engineering and operations leadership role in a Life Science, Diagnostics, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical industry.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across functional boundaries, with customers and with suppliers while driving business results.
Ability to effectively promote and lead change.
Capable of exploring beyond traditional business practices to drive operational enhancements in a positive, productive manner.
Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver a clear message and be approachable to solicit and listen to input from employees and business partners.
ISO 9001, ISO 13485 are required.
Must have demonstrated leadership skills consistent with company values.
