Marketing Communications Assistant - Intern

The Communications Department seeks a Digital/Content Marketing Intern for the summer of 2015.
The role of the Marketing Intern is to work with a non-profit marketing team, supporting the agency and its affiliate organizations. The Marketing intern will actively participate in projects related to marketing campaigns and communications.
This is a paid, 30 hour/week position for Summer 2015 (May - Aug). Monday-Friday

The intern may work on the following:
o Assist with brand communications (social media experience a plus)
o Perform administrative work on marketing communications (data entry)
o Coordinate daily marketing activities to include mailings, copying, proofing and distribution of materials
o Assist marketing team with marketing planning and ideation (organized)
o Create and coordinate online ads and/or promotions, as needed
o Create and coordinate ordering of promotional items; requesting quotes and maintaining vendor relations
o Conduct competitive market analysis research
o Assist Marketing Department in other projects as requested
Requirements - Education, Experience, Skills:
o Currently pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or similar field from an accredited college or university
o Strong writing and analytical skills
o Adapt PC skills
o Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
o Ability to follow direction and be self-motivated
o Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
o Professional demeanor
o Desire to work in a field that makes a difference in people's lives
Considered a Plus:
o Contact management systems experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
